Re: Personal Support for J.A.I.L.
Amendment
Dear Ron:
I am a white male, 44 years old, doing a 25 year
sentence for a Theft By Deception crime, whereas I experienced severe
judicial misconduct that resulted in the said conviction. I am of average
intelligence and certainly know the difference between right and wrong and/or
if I am guilty or not guilty. Frankly, I don't give a damn if
I get out of prison now, I have been subject to complete eradication of my life.
But before I will depart, I will have my say in the judicial devastation I have
been experiencing for the last five (5) years.
Be advised I have had several correspondences with Bill
Stegmeier of tea, SD, regarding J.A.I.L. and the quest to complete a most
successful win this November, (Amendment E).
Enclosed please find a sheet with two pages of trial
transcripts which depict two obvious examples of abuse of the court's own
discretion, so obvious it is definite misconduct. I am charged by indictment
which stated overcharged for masonry restoration of a basement and that the work
was performed unsatisfactorily. The state had experts, as did I, who said the
work was fine, though the state experts knew nothing of other services provided.
Nevertheless, the reason I write isn't just to mention misconduct of trial and
the influence to the jury, but to help each other.
I want this Amendment to be voted in. I tell everyone
every day to inform their friends and family to vote YES on the Amendment
E. I have on my bulletin board every article published in the local newspapers
referencing J.A.I.L. and the opposition to the same. I spend all my free time
writing to the JUDGES and prosecutors about the movement and its necessity. I AM
NOW HATED.
I have been attempting to pursue a habeas corpus
action, though cannot even get the judge to respond to my letters or motions.
The prison administers its own method of sabotage, which I'm sure you can
imagine as deliberate and devastating. I only hope you receive this letter.
Anyway, I intend to administer my own method of protest
to the terrible judicial misconduct I have endured the last 5 years. I have
before exercised hunger-strike, it is my only effective tool.
Imagine the publicity your organization could promulgate through the utilization
of an inmate protesting his judicial misconduct while incarcerated. ACTIONS
SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. I am sick and tired of being brushed by the same
system that abused my rights, my family, my life and my respect. I intend to do
this with or without your help. Please consider the advantages for both of
us. By November, if i am still alive, I will have made a big difference in the
number of votes for Amendment E. I have letters to write to the
legislators of this state, to the judges of this state, to the lawyers and the
entire judicial nexus. I hope to hear from you quite soon.
Respectfully,
Jim Lawrence

Obviously Mr. Lawrence can only be contacted by U.S.
mail, not email. Perhaps some of you will accept this responsibility of
acknowledging his letter on behalf of J.A.I.L. Thank you.
