California
Codes
This link will take you to the California Codes search engine at the
California Legislature. These codes are a legislative subject-matter rendering
of California Statutes at Large.
The Codes are not the law, they are merely a useful listing and may
contain
inaccuracies, additions, omissions or misconstruals of the statutes they
represent.
The statutes are the law and should be verified as your primary resource.
The content at this site is reasonably current, but may be incomplete,
out-of-date or otherwise defective in some content. However, it is a very
useful resource, allowing extensive search capability and the information
can be downloaded or printed easily.
California Code
of Regulations
This link will take you to the California Regulations that the Departments
issue from California Statutes.
Regulations are not law, but they generally have the force of law in
the administration of California Statutes. Always study the statutes and
legislative intent resources.
NOLO Press
ThisNOLO Press is primarily a publisher of Do-It-Yourself legal guides.
They offer an on-line law encyclopedia and provide free answers to common
questions by an on-line enquiry called Ask
Antie Nolo.
Nolo Press' books are useful for the pro se and pro
persona litigants. The Warden and Al Eggert won a legal malpractice
judgement against a Ventura county lawyer and their total legal assistance
