Many of you have already heard of the huge Los Angeles County Judge's Slush Fund Scandal. If you haven't, please read the recap on this from the man who broke the story, Marv Bryer below.     We have been informed, and hereby give you notice, that there is to be a court hearing on this coming Friday, March 10, 2000, at 2 p.m., 700 Civic Center Drive, Santa Ana, California, courtroom C-30, to be heard in front of Judge Stuart T. Waldrip, Case # BA 173392.   One of our attorneys, Patricia Barry, has directed the  following comments to Marv Bryer:

"I will try to attend the hearing. We need to pack the courtroom and alert the media -- LA Weekly, New Times, LA Times, Orange County Register, etc. ... Let's get all court reformers there and fill the courtroom!"

 Marv Bryer writes: Dear J.A.I.L.4Judges:

I went to Orange County today about the L.A. Court Scandal. Court Accountant Pentoney stole 1.45 million in city and county funds and his case is NOW in Orange County.
    The case is at 700 Civic Center Drive, Santa Ana, courtroom C30, Judge Stuart T. Waldrip.  The case number is BA 173392 and is still a LOS ANGELES CASE but being heard in ORANGE COUNTY at our expense.
    I "MAY" have a reporter interested in the story but I am taking my own action. I just filed a PUBLIC REQUEST for records of the PHONE LOGS from the Los Angeles Judge Victor Chavez's INCOMING CALLS to Judge Waldrip.
    Pentoney worked for Chavez and company - the top judges in Los Angeles and laundered money and maintained a slush fund for the judges.  The L.A. judges were all disqualified and now the want the OC judge to NOT LET THE CASE GO TO TRIAL.
    The next hearing is AT 2.00 pm in the C-30 courtroom.  In my filings on the OC judge, I informed him that I am sending a copy of what I filed to the Commission On Judicial Performance. Not that he will be worried, but he will have to think twice before he issues any orders in the case or accepts deals.

COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES JUDICIAL SCANDAL! 

BIG TIME! Dear JAIL For Judges:

 ....  Right now the Los Angeles judges are manipulating a case in Orange County. Gregory Pentoney is the "Bag Man" for the Los Angeles [County] judges. I reported him in 1994 to the Los Angeles District Attorney and said the man was a thief, a swindler and needed to be arrested.    Then I reported him for laundering money to judges. I wrote a complaint to the Los Angeles Treasurer and Tax Collector. They turned it over to the auditor who buried it! To get rid of the evidence, the Los Angeles District Attorney ... confiscated [the]evidence. This evidence is currently under lock and key in SID (Special Investigation Division) of [District Attorney] Garcetti's corrupt empire. The search warrant was sealed and locked up in a vault with the presiding judge. ....    Pentoney was arrested on August 28, 2022 and has never been to trail. The Los Angeles judges had to have him arrested because my city [the city of] Glendale sued Pentoney for conspiracy!!! The City Attorney of Glendale, Scott Howard, subpoenaed the criminal case records and our corrupt county counsel filed a motion to quash! The motion was heard in camera! Hell - they don't want this stuff coming out. Pentoney was arrested at the time the motion hearing was due. Do you get the idea how deep this corruption is?    [Presiding Judge] Larry Paul Fidler disqualified all superior court judges from the criminal case - People of the State of California verses Gregory Pentoney [case #] BA 173392.    Every case has a log. It is called the Register of Action. If you go to the Criminal Court in Los Angeles, you can pull the log of the case. There are two separate logs kept on Pentoney. The first log is the municipal court. Pentoney was arraigned before judge Dale S. Fisher. She reduced Pentoney's bail from 1.5 million to three hundred thousand! Isn't that suspicious?    .... This is an important case. Pentoney holds the key to unlock the RICO activities of our monstrous Los Angeles Judges. Pentoney was maintaining a slush fund for the judges [until] he and a lawyer tapped into the till. He was only arrested three years after the fact when the City of Glendale filed a civil suit.
    The municipal court transferred the case to the superior court. That's when [presiding] Judge Fiddler flew the coop. ...    The Pentoney case went back to a judge named Robert Hess. [Deputy] District Attorney Koumjian had argued that the judges were the victims. [Judge] Robert Hess reduced Pentoney's bail from three hundred thousand to one hundred thousand. Then [he] disqualified all Los Angeles Municipal court judges!    Try to find where the case went. ... I had to tell Garcetti's  publicity agent, Sandi Gibbons, to give me the information or I would sue to get it! I tracked the case into Orange County.... There is no log of this case in Orange County. The case has disappeared from public view.    Judge Makino shipped the case to the North Court in Fullerton. There it wound up in the chambers of Judge Stuart T. Waldrip. At first Judge Waldrip was honorable. He was going to pursue the case going to trial. The Los Angeles judges did not want the case to go to trial. "The defense lawyers will argue the Los Angeles judges have a slush fund!" .... I was in court when [Judge] Stuart T. Waldrip was speaking to the Orange County District Attorney. He said he received a call from 'The Chief Justice of Los Angeles" that he was instructed not to take the case to trial!    This is a crime. The phone call is illegal ex parte communication to pressure a judge to not proceed with the justice system. The judges of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles District Attorney want to drop ten felonies against Pentoney. In exchange ... Pentoney will keep his mouth shut and not rat on the Judges of Los Angeles.    I am suggesting that JAIL For Judges join me at the next hearing on (Friday) March 10th in the Civic Center Court Room C30. This deal [for Pentoney] is expected to go down. We can't let this happen.

    Hello - My name is Marvin Bryer and Ron Branson emailed me that you might be interested in following up on a matter I brought to Jail4Judges attention.
    This is in reference to the 11 counts of felonies committed by a court finance department employee named Gregory Pentoney - and he has never gone to trial after he was arrested in August of 1998!
    COURT:  Pentoney will appear on March 10, 2023 at the Orange County Superior Court located at 700 Civic Center Drive West, in Santa Ana.  I will have to find my notes to find the exact hearing time. But the courts open at 9:00 am.
The courtroom is C30, and the Judge is Stuart T. Waldrip.  The case is BA 173392.
    ANOMALIES:  If you call the Orange County Court Administration, they will tell you there is not such case.  Therefore, I will have to get he phone number of the courtroom itself.  The case file is in the judges chambers.  It is an Los Angeles case.  The case number is a Los Angeles case number.
    FACTS:  If you logon to the Los Angeles Times webpage - www.latimes.com - and click on the archive icon, you can then search on the words "Gregory Pentoney".  Enter the search for "all years" and you will get two hits.  You don't have to download the whole story because that costs 2 bucks - but - you will find on December 11, 1996, more than 1.2 million was missing from Superior Court funds.  The story was written by Josh Meyer.  Then, you will find on September 1, 1998, Pentoney was arrested.
    You will not find any news from there on except he was also obliquely referred to in an article about a lack of control over municipal court and superior court funds.  Employees would walk out of the court with bags of money!
    I will provide you with more information when I call the courtroom itself. I was at the last hearing when the deals to exonerate Pentoney of 10 of the 11 felonies were discussed.  He has never withdrawn his not guilty pleading.

DEAR JAIL4JUDGES:

Today is the day that the PEOPLE prosecute GREGORY PENTONEY - the court thief. PEOPLE VERUS PENTONEY. BA 173392. This is MARCH 10 - 2000 - PRETRIAL.

I have to share this with you. I was in TORRANCE COURT - on March 9, 2000. I was supporting a lady named IRENE JENSEN. She has to pay the LOS ANGELES SHERIFF'S EMPLOYEES and FORMER EMPLOYEES - 30 dollars per hour to see her kid - one day a month!

Irene had about seven people with her - who braved the metal detectors and went to court and to bat for her. I was really taken back when I mentioned GREGORY PENTONEY to her advocates. They KNEW ABOUT JAIL4JUDGES!!!!!! They knew about your email. Gadzooks! You get around!

Even if we don't bust corruption - we have to make a movie about this - someday! How many people fight dirty judges the way we fight? Hmm? We are broke - downtrodden - but we go on.

PENTONEY is NOT MY CASE! The PEOPLE are prosecuting him. Pentoney actually moved 5 million dollars in LOS ANGELES COUNTY TREASURY MONEY to bank accounts not belonging to the COUNTY. Heck - that's money we could have used to build more jail cells for traffic ticket violators WHO DON'T PAY!

PENTONEY and his buddy - ATTORNEY ROBERT FENTON - kept 1.5 million for themselves.

BUT ABOUT JAIL4JUDGES - what a noble experiment. How many people are really fighting dirty judges and dirty cops?

If any of you show up today - in ORANGE COUNTY - I would like to introduce you in advance to the PLAYERS:

1. Judge Stuart T. Waldrip. He is a handsome man with silver colored hair. He is intelligent and very outspoken. He transferred from Fullerton Court (called the North Court) to the Santa Ana court (700 Civic Center Drive) when a judge died. Waldrip took a call from LOS ANGELES JUDGE - VICTOR CHAVEZ - to rig the PEOPLE VS. PENTONEY CASE BA 173392.

2. Nicholas Koumjian. He is a likable District Attorney who thinks he is doing his job. He is NOT EVIL but he is being instructed by his bosses to cover up corruption. Nicholas will talk to you. But when I point out that he has (locked up in SID (Special Investigation Division)) evidence of judicial corruption, he just ignores this as if a flea was bothering him. Koumjian is why we need JAIL4JUDGES.

3. James Blatt. He is a shrewd attorney for ATTORNEY ROBERT FENTON. Blatt represents Fenton who is charged with BRIBING PENTONEY, COMMITTING PERJURY, and GRAND THEFT LARCENY. Blatt has gone on record as saying his client was exposing a SLUSH FUND. The LOS ANGELES JUDGES were keeping hundreds of millions of dollars in redevelopment money a secret. The LOS ANGELES JUDGES instructed PENTONEY and the SUPERIOR COURT FINANCE DEPARTMENT to REMAIN QUIET. Blatt is very astute and takes HIGH PROFILE CRIMINAL CASES.

4. Attorney Walter Katz. He is an ALTERNATE PUBLIC DEFENDER. A tall thin - and very sophisticated African American lawyer. He filed a BENCH RECUSAL on the LOS ANGELES MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGES - all of them - and succeeded to move the case to ORANGE COUNTY to be out-of-the limelight, and away from the press.

Blatt disqualified all of the LA SUPERIOR COURT JUDGES! KATZ was surprised when the WASHINGTON TIMES called him. He never returned the call. KATZ took the case when PENTONEY said he could not afford anymore private attorneys! He was given a PUBLIC DEFENDER who quit the case, leaving PENTONEY with KATZ.

Bottom line - KATZ is schrewd. He has issued subpoenas. I would love to see the subpoenas BUT they are NOT IN THE COURT FILES!

5. Relatives. Pentoney's dad will be there. He is a corporate lawyer and I have to guess that he was the connections that got PENTONEY - his son - a job handling ALL OF THE LOS ANGELES COURT MONEY. The dad is tall and not overweight. He sort of looks like KEATING - the guy who fleeced the savings and loans!

6. PENTONEY. He is the CO-DEFENDANT. He handled all the traffic ticket money - Ron - for bail and every other dime that was collected and not sent to the county treasury. Pentoney was described by the LOS ANGELES TIMES as being a good-looking RISING STAR! If you look at him - you won't see evil. Believe me - this man is rotten and infected to the core. He holds the KEY for all of us. PENTONEY is the RAFAEL PEREZ of the COURT SYSTEM! If only he would talk. Expect him to plead NO CONTEST to one count of bribery. Here is the kicker. AFTER PENTONEY WAS FIRED - he received requests from the LOS ANGELES DISTRICT ATTORNEY to come clean. He earned interest on his theft but returned the 1/2 million he personally stole. HE - I BELIEVE - HAS NEVER RETURNED THE INTEREST EARNED on the money he stole!

7. Attorney Robert Fenton. He is co-defendant. He is a likable man who is now DISBARRED from practicing law. He learned about the REDEVELOPMENT MONEY - EMINENT DOMAIN slush funds when Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) took his property! He became friends with the COURT FINANCE DEPARTMENT. He and PENTONEY are best buddies. He swears he did nothing wrong. I like FENTON and have talked to him. He talks to PENTONEY at court - although there are STRICT ORDERS they are NOT ALLOWED TO TALK! FENTON is only one part of the problem. He is NOT THE KEY.

So - if any of you are there today - you will see the MATRIX MOVIE unfold. You will see the illusion that justice is being carried out. It is all a fake. All a mirage. This case has been orchestrated by the purse strings of the LOS ANGELES COURT - the largest trial court in the WORLD!

As corrupt as the Bar Ass. is, and because its members unconstitutionally monopolize our courts, I would not be surprised if this same kind of money laundering and RICO activities occur in every county, state and federal court system!  It is time we the people start investigating in our own counties!
