We are happy to announce that the South Dakota J.A.I.L. Initiative is
now "out the gate" and running for Victory in 2006!
This race is a nationwide effort, and we invite everyone that can do so, to join
the South Dakotans and help collect the needed signatures. We need to collect
40,000 signatures by the end of October (4 months from now) in order to end up
with 33,000+ valid signatures to qualify for the November 2006 ballot.
Contrary to our prior announcements, today we have been informed by the
South Dakota Secretary of State that anyone, from any
state, can collect the signatures. The only requirement is that
they be at least 18 years of age!
Here is the definition of a petition circulator
as listed in South Dakota Codified Law 12-1-3:
(9)
"Petition circulator," a person of at least eighteen years of age who circulates
nominating petitions or other petitions for the purpose of placing candidates or
issues on any election ballot;
There are no further qualifications for a
petition circulator.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

All you have to do is arrange to get the petitions from Bill (he is picking
up 10,000 petitions today). Each petition has room for 14 signatures, so it
would be possible to have 140,000 signatures at 100%. To get the 40,000 will
require an average of 3.5 signatures per petition. So we have our work cut out
for us!
and for the South Dakota Freedom Roast 2005 hosted by Bill Stegmeier again
this year-- also in August either before or after the Rally.
Let's finally get J.A.I.L. "on the map" -- this is the chance for the
People to make a difference in this country. Passage of J.A.I.L. in South Dakota
will impact all of us everywhere.
Let's make it
count!!
